With the 2012 regular season in the books, let's take a look back at some of the highlights from this past season.
*
Albert Pujols became the highest paid player in MLB history when the Padres signed him to 7 year deal at $40.550 mil per season. He responded by posting his best season in the WBL and also leading the Padres to the 2nd best record in the league.
* The
Jays came within 3 wins of breaking the record of 113 wins in a season. Great job Aaron!
* The
Braves did break the record for most losses in a season with 110.
*
Cleveland continues their consecutive division titles streak!
*
Taylor Green (MIL) broke Joe Mauer's single season batting avg. record of .357 with his .359 avg.
*
Green also broke the record for hits in a season with 226.
*
Pedro Alvarez tied Ryan Braun's single season HR mark of 46.
*
Sergio Santos (TOR) finished with 143 rbi which breaks Ryan Braun's record of 142.
* Continuing his record breaking season,
Taylor Green bested Ryan Braun's single season VORP of 100.3 by posting a vorp of 108.3!
*
CC Sabathia tied his single season record set back in 2009 with 23 wins.
*
Aaron King (CHA) set a new record for BB with 125. That beat Jason Rice's 124 BB in 2010. Seeing as how they were both White Sox, should they consider a new pitching coach in the Windy City??
