| Breaking News |  | Bucs Walker Suspended 10 Games for Banned Substance Saturday, October 4th, 2014: Bill Walker got some bad press today. It was announced by the league office that the Barbe starting pitcher had failed a drug test and would be suspended for 10 games. The league said he was guilty of using an illegal substance, contrary to league anti-drug policies.
This season-to-date, Walker has fashioned a 3-0 mark and 11.02 ERA in 58 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .406 against him and he has logged 62 strikeouts. |  | Positive Drug Test Sidelines Flores for 10 Games Thursday, September 11th, 2014: League officials notified the South Caldwell Spartans that reliever Máximo Flores recently failed a drug test and will be punished for violating the league drug policy. He will be suspended for 10 games.
The Spartans general manager released a statement that read, "We are sorry that one of our players has broken the rules. Máximo has apologized to our team and our fans and has said it will not happen again. He realizes that this type of behavior could ruin his baseball career. Both Máximo and our organization will do all we can to remedy this situation."
So far this year Flores has been credited with 3 saves, registered a 5.20 ERA and struck out 61 in 53.2 innings. He also has a 1-2 record. | | | | |
