| Breaking News | | Clark 5-5 Against Rough Riders Monday, April 13th, 2015: It doesn't happen very often, but it happened for Quentin Clark -- a 5-hit day. He went on a rampage at Ballpark of Arkansas and paced the Travelers to a 17-3 win over the Frisco Rough Riders.
After his dynamite batting performance the Arkansas left fielder told the press, "I just tried to get myself in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid some great dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 5 tries and put his name in the record book.
Q. Clark walked in the 1st, hit a two-run single in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off T. Bailey in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.
Clark is currently hitting at a .591 pace with 2 home runs and 9 RBIs. | | 5 Hits for Drillers Gomez Monday, April 13th, 2015: Hector Gomez exploded for a barrage of base hits today at Ballpark of San Antonio. The Tulsa right fielder had a field day against the San Antonio Missions, finishing with a 5-5 day and a spot in the record book.
"It's a shame that we lost the game. It's really hard to enjoy what I did today," he said, lamenting the 5-3 loss. "You would think 5 hits would do it."
Asked about his great day, he replied, "My hitting philosophy is pretty simple. I focus just to see the ball and try to get a good pitch."
Well, Gomez must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too. It was one of his best days ever with the bat.
H. Gomez doubled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
This season Gomez is hitting .429 with 9 hits, no home runs, 3 RBIs, scored 2 runs and played in 5 games. | | | | |
