Thursday, June 29th, 2017: It doesn't happen very often, but it happened for Jim Stevens -- a 5-hit day. He went on a rampage at Roamers Ballpark and paced the Spinners to a 11-3 win over the Vermont Lake Monsters.
After his dynamite batting performance the Lowell center fielder told the press, "I just tried to get myself in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid some great dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 5 tries and put his name in the record book.
J. Stevens singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
Stevens is presently hitting at a .406 pace with no home runs and 5 RBIs. He has played in 7 games and scored 7 times. |

Wednesday, June 28th, 2017: Hector Ambriz really wowed everybody at the ballpark with his 7-0 shutout victory over Auburn today. The State College pitcher mystified the Doubledays in a strong performance. He gave up 2 hits and totaled 1 walk and 3 strikeouts.
His manager said, "Hector had them chasing a lot of pitches and talking to themselves. It was something special to watch."

Monday, June 26th, 2017: An efficient outing for Alfredo Negrete usually means a win for State College. Today was no exception, as the 26-year-old starter held Auburn to a long line of goose eggs. He struck out 5 and gave up 4 hits in the 11-0 shutout.
